The charcoal toothpaste and electric brush myths remind me very strongly of how Gillette markets why you must have a vibrating razor, or 8 blades in your razor, etc. It is all about driving more sales in a saturated market (if I use a straight razor, which I do, I won't ever be buying blades from Gillette).
Shoes again that shaving or teeth care can be achieved without all the fancy gimmicks. It is no wonder that those advertising spots are worth such a lot on Facebook and on TV and wherever our attention is.
